How to Add Channels to a Sky Digibox.
This information is ONLY applicable to Sky Digiboxes.
A Sky Digibox is great for watching the channels on the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). However, certain TV and radio channels do not broadcast on the EPG, so if you want to watch / listen to them, you have to venture into the menu structure.
Fortunately it is very easy to add channels to the Digibox. You need some basic frequency information for the channel you are interested in, and all you need to do is press a handful of buttons on the remote control.
Start by selecting: Services, 4 (System Setup), 4 (Add Channels).
This will get you to a menu with five Items on it
From the top item on the menu (Frequency GHz): key in the 5 digits for the frequency, ignore the decimal point.
Use the down arrow to move to the H / V setting. Use the left / right arrows to set the correct polarity.
Dont alter the Symbol Rate and FEC unless you know you have to. (For most channels you won't have to).
Scroll down to the Find Channels option, and press "Select"
Choose your channel(s), scroll down to each one you want, and press the Yellow button.
Press "Sky" to get back to the main tv channels (or "Backup" if you want to add more channels).
Press "Services", 6 (Other Channels), then scroll up and down the list until you find the one you want, then press "Select" to watch or listen.
To get back to the main tv channels at any point, press "Sky"
ENJOY !
(It all looks pretty complicated, but dont worry, its all very simple once you have done it a couple of times).
All the 28E free to air frequencies can be found on the Astra 2 table.
You can also add Radio Caroline. Details here
Please note:
You can put up to 50 channels to a Digibox "Other Channels" section. However, try and keep the number down to 35 or so. Digiboxes are well known for losing all the "Other Channels" for no good reason, and it seems to be more likely if you have more than 35 or so channels stored....
Also, as the Digibox has limited functionality, you can only add Symbol Rates of 22000, and 27500. There is currently no way around this.
