Archive news for 2002.
This is the news that was on the front page of the site in 2002. I've moved it here as it was taking up rather a lot of room on the front page.
23rd December: Astra 1K and Hotbird 7 both lost after launch disasters..... Full story of both mishaps on the AnalogueSat site.

replaced Hotbird 5 at 13E
Atlantic Bird 3 is in full service at 5W, and is considerably more powerful than Telecom
2C
7th September: Ive had
an email from the site hosts... Apparently this site has been exceeding the Geocities data
transfer limits recently. Apologies if the site is unavailable at times - Geocities are
turning access off once the transfer limits are exceeded... :-(
If this happens, please try later, access is
restored in a couple of hours.....
5th September: Hotbird 6 is reported testing at 1.7E. It should be in service at 13E by the end of this month. HB5 will be moved to a new orbital slot once HB6 is in service. Atlantic Bird 1 is reported in geostationary orbit, and should start testing in the next few days. Stellat 5 has renamed to Atlantic Bird 3, and once testing is complete will go to 5W.
20th August: Ive been rather
busy recently which is why there havent been many updates in the last couple of weeks.
Hot Bird 6 is due to launch tomorrow. The launch is being carried live on Hotbird 13E in
free digital. The tuning parameters are: 12673V SR 27500 FEC 3/4.
6th August 2002: I finally succeeded in getting a signal off Atlantic Bird 2 / Telecom 2D at 8W yesterday. The table has been added to the site. AB2 is an easy catch - the signals are very strong, although I have to move my dish to get it - 8W is behind a tree here :-(
30th July 2002. Site content expanded a bit. I think Ive sorted out a few problems on the site as well - some of the hyperlinks weren't working right...
11th May 2002: I have managed to get a signal off Astra 3A at 23.5E, and the table has been added to the site
