During May 2003, Iceland reappeared on satellite. This was to ensure all expat Icelanders could watch the Icelandic elections. Astra 2D was used again, although an Astra 1H transponder was also hired to ensure coverage across the whole of Europe. Sadly the transmissions ceased a couple of days after the elections finished.
Whilst they lasted, these transmissions were certainly an interesting addition to the European satellite scene, and we can only hope that RUV will appear on our tv screens again soon.
