Pixellated pictures.

 

With analogue transmissions, if a signal is too weak, you get sparklies on your pictures. However, digital pictures are much different. You dont get a gradual deterioration in your signal, you get a sudden break up, and the picture goes horribly pixellated.

 

This dreadful mess is a typical result of a too weak signal. The picture is actually of a tiger, although it looks like this poor creature has had a nasty accident....

This was grabbed off one of the Sirius 5°E channels. These signals are marginal at best here with my scruffy and rather battered old 80cm dish.
